There's something about this song that gets me in my gut. There are four or five moments throughout the song that are truly epic. All these vocals together feels so raw and amazing. Is there a visual equivalent to this? If you were just looking to create raw gut emotion in someone what would you do visually?
Firstly, I just need to say how amazing Gennaro is. His enthusiasm is fantastic. I love his videos and so do my two boys.
The title of the cooking video is "How To Get Kids Eating Vegetables". And the key to it is hiding what the kids don't want to eat. Online there are loads of things people hate to do (forms spring to mind), so how can we hide them or trick people into doing them without the pain? A little bit at a time with treats in between? How else?
The colours in this are fantastic. Having all the green in the video as this orangy pink is so striking. I love it. It works so well becuase we're so used to seeing greenery as green. What colours on a site can we swap for something less typical? And beyond colours what can we invert or swap?
JP Cooper's voice is amazing. It's a cracking song and all his little vocal twists and turns keep you surprised. The song has a purpose and direction but there are little details along the way that are treats in themselves. This could definitely be explored in web design. The video is great too – all one take. Really nice.
I love how simple this recipe is. It just has three ingredients, but it's all about getting it just right. It's simple but obsessive about the details at the same time. Website can often be the opposite – complex and lazy when it comes to the details. What would things look it they were simple but complex at the same time?
I know I've already featured this song but I love the video too. The camera movement at the beginning is great (I think they are called whip pans). But there are loads of great things to inspire: the colours, the lighting, the dancers' movement. My favourite shot is the one following Rae through the crowd at about 2:45.
